Afternoon all,
Does anyone know where to get a god deal on a Codan NGT HF Radio?

I'm on the Central Coast, so Sydney is fine.

Thanks

I spoke some time ago with Chris the then sales manager of Codan and he said sales of 9323 and the then New NGT were slow because the 8525 were such a good product they last too long.
So if the 9323 and NGT are as good then buy which ever one meets your budget and fancy.
The HF Radio Club are selling both.

The 9323 is easier to get programmed than the NGT. Unless email over HF turns you on, I would be inclined to stick to the 9323. The 9323 is probably about a grand cheaper too!!

Blue,
I recently traded my 8528 in on a new NGT as I was have a few issues with it and had lost confidence. I wanted something reliable as it is my lifeline when out in the bush. I bought it from Lake Macquarie Communications which is at Gateshead just south of Newcastle.

Doug who runs the business is a good guy, active 4wd driver and has a lot of experience with hf radios. I was very happy with the deal I got which was better than the others I tried, besides I like to support good helpful people.

The NGT is a great unit, worked first off with my existing 9350 autotune aerial and gave a much better signal than the 8528 when I did a radio check with the VKS737 base in the Alice from home outside Sydney. It is a smart system and has many features I will never use!! It is very compact too which is a bonus.

Hey Richard,
What did you think of the 9323, how much do you want for it and are you selling the aerial?

Cheers

The 9323 is a really good radio, it does most of the important things any other one will.

The small remote head is an ideal size and having access to most of the functions from the mike if good, I think when they went to the NGT they made it harder to use for most people and this is why the 9323 is still popular and great value.

We use a Icom ICF-7000 and a Codan 9350 antenna.....the Icom is alot more user friendly and advanced then the even the NGT.

I want around $850 or nearest offer for the 9323 with no antenna, you can pick up a taped whip and base for a couple of $$$

The 9323 is just sitting around not getting used collecting dust.

Regards Richard

Richard,
If you have no success with anyone else purchasing the codan, I am also very interested. Could you email me at growpak@internode.on.net if you still have the radio and are still keen to offload it.

thanks,

Jeff
