Hi everyone......seen some of you having trouble with your new stainless steel cobbs...well I have one of those too and it works an absolute treat...great little cooker.....wind problem...no way... I sit mine inside one of those collaspsible weed baskets, you know the ones that spring up when unclip the sides, you get them from the hardware store, cost about $5-$7.
Its up when its cooking and when I want to check it I just push the sides down and clip, check the goodies inside, add a little more water or wine, lid back on and release the sides, up they pop, too easy....wind...what wind...dont put any holes in the weed bag either, it draws beautifully...and because the weed bag collapses and clips, it is easy to store away....cheers Phil

Good solution there Phil.

We're lucky (touch wood). Still have the Mark II with the black plastic base and no drama's with it as yet.

I too have a black base and it is showing signs of splitting in a number of spots.
I will be careful with it and then switch so appreciate the advice.
I enjoy the meals we cook using the Cobb, and also enjoy the envious looks and enquiries about 'how was your dinner' and my favorite 'what have you got in there?'
