Anyone using this system? It says in they add that it now has talk thru directions, for the little time I need GPS for city driving that would be handy as I dont have one of these new city/street GPS, just an older Megellan hooked to my lap top.
Thanks in advance Bruce.

Bruce,
As I understand Trackranger, it is dependent on the quality and detail of the maps you associate with it. Just like OziExplorer.
The dedicated City Streets software like TomTom, Destinator, CoPilot, etc. have very detailed "street directory" style reference which makes them very acurate for metropolitan area driving. They are less practical for country driving however, because the detail for country wide travel is not included in their reference data.
This is where products such as Trackranger and OziExplorer excel, as the digital reference maps they use, (NATMAP Raster, HEMA maps, etc.) are specific to this type of travel.
In short, there is no product currently available that will do both City & Streets and Countrywide road travel, that I am aware of.

Just had a read of the TrackRanger URL.
Although you can load the UBD Street Directory which may give you some functionality, i'm not yet sure if it will provide dedicated voice guided turn by turn functionality that the other programs do.
Comparing TrackRanger to OziExplorer, the one big plus Ozi has, is that you can run it on a "Windows Mobile" Operating System device. (PDA)

Thanks for that info Sand Man, if I read it right it just finds any maps u have on your lap top and uses it, seems a bit to easy so I think I should ring them and ask.
Cheers Bruce.
