So we're heading off for our 2 month holiday/honeymoon up the coast of WA through
Kalbarri,
Carnarvon and
Broome. We're then heading towards
Derby and heading inland via the
Gibb River Road and plan on checking out all the gorges etc. We'll also head to
Mitchell Falls, Kalumbaru and
Honeymoon Bay.
Then we're heading to
El Questro, Kununnurra and
Wyndham. We want to then cross the border and
check out Keep River NP and a couple of days in
Kakadu.
We'll then headback to Kununnurra and head south down the great northern to
Halls Creek, the Bungle Bungles and Wolf Creek NP. My fiance (who'll be my wife when we're on the trip/honeymoon :)) wants to do some prospecting, so I know we need a miner's right/licence?
We'll then head back to the gorges via
Fitzroy Crossing and then make our way
home either back via the coast or the inland route.
I've already got my Annual All Parks Pass for WA, and know about the miner's right/licence, are there any other passes/permits I need to know about?
Thanks in advance :)
Jason.
ps, only 67 days to the wedding and 69 days to the honeymoon, WOOOHOOO!!!!

Jason,
You need a permit to visit
Kalumburu and you can get this from www.dia.wa.gov.au
plus when you get to
Kalumburu you have to get another permit from the offices at
Kalumburu. We just asked at the Mission Store about what to do. The permit from the dia is free, the other cost $35.
You don't say if you're going to
Cape Leveque etc from
Broome. If you are then you should get a permit for the communities up there. You get this from the www.dia.wa.gov.au as
well.
Best wishes for the wedding and the travels,
Viv

Good luck to you, what a honeymoon!
Advice #1 - don't forget that canvas is thin.
Advice #2 - at
El Questro get a private
camping area (and book a table at the restaurant)
some others :-
when you leave
El Questro, you can head up to
Wyndham via some tracks (either backtrack to go along the ranges, or turn off near
King River). After
Wyndham leave the tar and head off to Kununnurra via Parry Lagoons.
Also, its a long way to
kakadu for couple of days. You may want to do
Kakadu first and save(keep) Keep NP up your sleeve if you have time.
If staying at
Katherine, go to Edith Falls.
