Hi All, just when I thought I had those mongrels in tow they struck again, right in the middle of an important thread {on E/O of course} phone goes kicks me off I'm sure you know the feeling, Modern roller shutters again, I told them I was already on the dont call register and they were the only ones who've kept calling since I enrolled 3 months ago, you cant have it only started yesterday but no the ADMA one started 3 months ago, anyhow I asked the supervisor why she kept doing something nobody wanted and her reply ? what do you want us to do
sign on the dole ??? is it me ? so I rang the boss at Modern and guess what he was equally helpful, when asked why he does something so annoying as to p##s off potential clients his reply I get 70% of my business from call centres, so never mind that it pees you off as long as you get what you want aye ? so I informed him that when I'm up for roller shutters his company wont get to the table, his reply, and I quote WE DONT WANT YOUR BUSINESS and laughed at me, so tell me what do you do with a brain dead attitude like that ? where do you go now?
one seriously peed off Dave

Get all your friends to ring him continuously and tell him you really want to do business with him.
After a while he may get the message.

Here is what I do ..
I write a nice letter to ask to stop calling me and fax it from my private number to their "Phone" number ... put my fax (it's a pc) on redial indefinate and let it run for a couple of hours ... after that I realise my mistake :)) and send it to the fax number ..
I do this again every 3-4 days ... oooops ... :)))
well it costs a bit of money but it is
well worth it ...
have fun

Ok, first few times I am polite, but say no.
Then as you do talk to a supervisor.
Then after that, when they ring, whatever I am doing, I just tell them not interested, but since they are so keen to talk to me I am putting them on speaker phone while I carry on doing what ever I am doing at the time.
Say hello a few times to confirm I am there. Make some noise. But make it obvious that you are not interested. If they want to waste thier time talking to me when they could be talking to some one who may be interested and say yes, it is up to them.
A couple of times they said I would hang up if I was not interested, but I said my mother taught me it is rude to hang up on people. Just keep talking.
Some times goes on for over 30 minutes. They like to waste thier own time.
Not many repeat calls actually after that.

I used to give them to my ten year old son to talk to - they still rang back, but at least it was my son who was getting annoyed with them and not me :-)))

I told him I wasnt interested in buying them but if they wanted to waist their time flying to
Alice Springs to measure them up, feel free.
And guess what!!!..... They did.....
They did a measure up and rung me back a week or so latter with the price. So again I told them they were lovely and they are more than welcome to install them BUT again Im not interested in buying them.
They had no reason to call back then.
Cheers

The Federal Government has just implemented a new "Do Not Call" register and it will be an offence for any Australian based Company to call you if you are on the register.
Should eliminate almost all Telemarketers, so they will soon be struggling for business.
