I have posted a new thread to make sure the result didn't get lost at the end of the old one. After a chat with the service manager he agreed given the infomaion provided by me the fault sould not have taken so long to find. I am also
well aware that a simple electrical fault can take hours to find and minutes to fix. A fair compromise price was arranged for a mutually agreeable result. Thanks for the replys. Cheers Rob

Good one Rob.
I'd suggest that maintaining good relations with you and the potential for return business won out over a one off overinflated price.
It's good to see the Service Manager was prepared to listen and adjust the price accordingly.
A small win for you mate and a bigger win for the dealership probably.
