Paul and Sharyn will no doubt be bitterly disappointed... They love organising the challenge but at least the culprit is something EVERYONE needs...

Its quite strange up here at the moment too....7mm at argyle last night, we got rained on fishing near Wyndham on Sunday. It is quite pleasent, and a change from 35 degrees and sunny everyday.

It may cause a bit of a drama for a camping/fishing trip planned for the weekend at the end of the month though...

Cheers Andrew

Hi Andrew ,
You live in an expensive town ! I just checked out the three motels and they were $160 , $180 or $192 per night for a single .
I will be staying in one of them on May 24 and 25 after my five day run from Sydney . Then we are off to the Mitchell Plateau .
Cheers ,
Willie .

Sir Willie

You know that Royalty have to pay a higher price. You may even get the honeymoon suite....the one with an airconditioner in it...lol

Hope you have a good time up north.

Cheers

Gday Peter

More rain, be it light over night here, and some during yesterday. I see on the news last night that the temp didn't change all day.....or they had a fault with the station.....min overnight 24, max during the day 24!

Gday Willie

KNX can be a bit pricey. Some services are surprisingly compeditive with other locations, some are a bit exy but justifiable due to remote location and volume of sales etc......and there is the odd ripof!

Usually when something seems a bit rich, a quick internet search may find the product/service for comparison in less remote area's, and comparisons can be made. I always try to look at it from the Point of view of the supplier. i.e Could I do it cheaper and better and make a decent living?.....the answer most of the time is no, or its not worth the effort. I may be a little de-sensitised to it now, been up here nearly 7 years now....Where did that go!

Cheers Andrew

Trendsetters

The Lightning Flashed and the Thunder Crashed

The rain just pelted down but not a one did drown

Al & Craizie in one wool shed and Des & Lucy in another

Surrounded by their crews and whooping a bother.

B-B-Q in the left hand and can of the good stuff in the right

Shouting, yelling and bullchiting with all their might.

Wet, covered in mud and chit up to their dates

They had a great time with all their mates.

Yes trend setters it was a wash out.

Took Des and myself with 8 Comp trucks staged in a convoy with all our spectators interspersed amongst us 4.5hrs to drive 75kms from Denian to Menindee.

Crazie and Al did the same thing from Viewmont to Menindee over 40kms in a shorter time with the same degree of difficulty.

Once we transported, the RTA reclosed all roads in the south indefinitely.

BONZ and all his Moley crew were stranded at Nundooka in the north as Mrs Al mentioned, and missed the presentation.

Suffer BONZ, Suffer. (ROFLMAO)

The whole she-bang turned into the 'glue pot mud from hell' at Viewmont SS area.

From all Chit things come good things.

The station owners are just ecstatic. Every 25mm means so much extra income for them its not funny. Some haven't seen any rain whatsoever for nine years.

The grass has already started to shoot and all the way back to Melbourne it started with a tinge of green developing into sheets of green in the paddocks along with half filled dams and large pools of water.

So really, it's all good.

Us four now need the rest of the year to clean and restore our rigs back to normal working condition. (LOL)

Unfortunately not, Truckie

Just the NSW RTA bureaucrats in Broken Hill.

The boys that managed to escape the north and staged up at Menindee on Wednesday night for the southern comp areas, were talking to THE Menindee RTA man in the Menindee pub, and guess what - yep! no one from his office in Broken Hill had asked him what the roads were like in the South.

At that time they were dry and we could have transitioned /transported nth/sth easy as.

That night it bucketed down and all of Thursday,

By that time it was all over red rover.

I hear there are some unhappy people in regards to the "winners"...
eg no firewall on the car, and the turbo about 3inches from the navi's feet, and many more issues...

IMHO, there should have been no winner with that amount of competition having been run.

Yea, not the weather affected bit, the car is appears to be the issue.. as the discussion goes on OL, the car didnt even meet CCDA rules, and should have been stopped there... but they let it go cause they made the effort to get here... That will bite someone on the ring!!
