Good trade, but I'm confused.
Who pays who?

I couldn't decide which tyres to put on so I put BF Goodrich AT's on my Challenger and am very happy with them on and off the road I then put Coopers on my Pajero and do not like them at all noisy and not as good on gravel or bitumen roads, I won't make that mistake again.

Cant see the point of going with an expensive brand like cooper for HT's. There are lots of choices out there for HT's and you could easily find some which will handle better on the road at a better price.

Well you dont want to do much mud type offroading (or you wouldnt get an HT) so you can choose from virtually any brand, they all have a 4x4 HT. I currently run michelin HT's and I find they are quiet and good at speed, obviously they are rubbish off road so if I want to do anything fun I will be getting a second set of rims and some jungle trekkers or something at the other end of the scale. If you want to buy on price then a good value tyre which still is
well made is hankook. The pirelli scorpion has a HT based AT which is a very good all rounder but perhaps a little punchure prone (i have heard) but in the flesh I have seen them perform very
well off road on a prado. All of these tyres will easily outperform the cooper on the road and cost less. I know many cooper fenatics which will never switch brand but I personally would never own them, I think they are overpriced and low quality. I would choose BF. BF make a good AT which virtually every conservative 4x4 owner owns who cant bring themselves to go 'all out' and get the MT - which is also very good. In the end tho you not going to be able to
test them all out, so my short list would include all the brands I have mentioned other than BF and cooper.

So you would reccomend Bf AT. How much did you pay and how long are they presumed to last?

I use the BFG AT on my Triton 31 x 10.5 R15's
They cost around the $220 mark.
They have done over 30 000km's and still have a lot of life left.
Have used them about 80% on road.
Cheers Kev

That size is the standard size for the Triton as
well.
I found that the 31's changed the speedo reading by about 4-6km/h.
Shop around for local purchasing as I'm in
Sydney.
Cheers Kev
