Prattie,

A bolt on stonegard on the camper trailer will mainly provide protection to the front of the camper trailer.
Stones can still bounce off the frame of the guard (even if angled down) and bleep ter the rear window. (This happened to me on the Birdsville track)

The best way of protecting the rear window is with a cover of some sort over the windows. This can be homemade, out of cardboard or perspex type material, or you can purchase a commercially made one from Obie's Outback

There is also the problem of spraying rocks onto the paintwork at the rear so a stone deflector on the trailer is really necessary.

I used 20mm Square tube for four poles then strung bungee cord across the top and bottom to which I stitched shade cloth. The whole thing was angled towards the ground. I didn't use anything on the back of the truck but did put larger mud flaps behind all wheels.

Bunnings sell sheets of clear perspex of various dimensions , you will find it near the plastic roofing section, once you have it and cut with snips or small hacksaw m drill some small holes in it in each corner for fixing , with a bit foresight you vould add spacers to avoid fouling the wiper if one is present

Have a look at a Trak Shak camper trailer, they have it all figured.

A sacrificial chadecloth, supported by 2,,, inch x inch box tube.
They point forward at 30 degrees, and are located on either side of the out-side front.
There is heaps of excess cloth, set up to then fold forward and to be " ocky straped " to the blttom of the bumper, thus keeping all stones underneath vehicles.

Cheers Bucky
