I'm currently looking at the 'DX Active 1' caravan antenna for installation on a camper trailer. Anyone had experience with this product?

This question reminds me of something funny.

The most common 1st question asked at Cooinda, (Yellow Water) is which direction should we point our antenna.

When in a World Heritage Listed N.P. Kakadu you would think the 1st question would be, what attraction are best to see and visit.

Any way can't help you on this one.

Cheers Steve.

Often had a laugh at the same thing.

Rig pulls up, shinest of everything, set up, then go inside, cook, eat, watch TV, go to sleep.
Next day, pack up, leave.
Presumably to do it all over again at the next stop.

Why not save money and stay home?

BTW Kim, not in any way saying that's what you're doing

Hi kimprado

I bought one of these from Jaycar Electronics and it is brilliant!!!!!!! I bought a flat panel telly too and used them at Waterloo in S.A on the side of a low hill - miles from anywhere - look it up on Googlearth. The reception was:

digital quality on 9
very very good on 7
Excellent on 10
poor on ABC (2)

Can't recommend it enough - I put mine on top of some demountable gazebo legs that I can take apart and put in the car easilly - I then lashed it to the front of the car/bull bar to it about 9ft in the air. You have to connect 12v DC to it but this is no problem obviously - it draws a very small current. It also comes with a very long antenna lead too. It's weatherproof.

Happy days

Thanks for that. The antenna I was looking at is probably not the same as yours because it's retailing for $250.

I'm not far from a Jaycar store and will go down there next Saturday and have a look.

Axel

I don't have any interest in TV (even at home). I'm buying it as a birthday present for my daughter when she and the son in law borrow the camper.

Thanks for the offer, but under the circumstances, I'll have to buy something new.
