Hi all,

Would like to treat a good friend who's going through the rigours of chemo, to a few

days away from it all, somewhere in a nice coastal spot either north or south of

Sydney. She likes to paint, so I'm thinking of beaches. Will need to check my roster

but expect to make it a mid week break in the next 2-6 weeks.

Any suggestions please!!

Many thanks,

Joan.

It might be a bit far
Try Lakeside caravan Park at Woolgoolga 23kms north of Coffs harbour
you can get cabins there for around the $60.00 mark but check
Old style park right on the beach - you could probably find yourselves sitting on the park bench on the foreshore by yourselves mid week
from there you have access to
red rock -beautiful spot where the river enters the sea
the drive up through the Beligen Valley to the tree tops walk
Yuraguir National Park-nice little drive to shelly Beach
Up into the forrest to places like "the Jucntion" Nymboida River
or you can just go and do some fishing straight out front of the Caravan Park
Where ever you decide - have fun

My wife loves the wineries in the Hunter Valley. She and a mob of her school girlfriends catch up June long weekend, every year there. Nice painting scenery too. If you want to splash out, try Peppers, my wife reckons it's the bee's knees (but we class the van on a beach pretty special).

Further north is Port Macquarie, tis another top spot to unwind and lots of nice beaches.

As has been suggested, just the thought of helping your friend out will make it a very special couple of days, from their point of view. Good luck to your friend.

Regards, Trevor.

Hi Joan,

Between South West Rocks and Port Macquarie there are some great camping grounds with beautiful, quiet beaches and headlands and close to great little townships. There are also a number of caravan parks to chose from.

thanks for the added input.

My friend got a good report from the Doctor yesterday. She and her hubby have
decided to head off for a well earned break. She cringes /can't watch the add that comes on TV about the 2 women with bowel cancer.

We can have our mid week break any time and now have some good places to go.

Should work on draging my hubby out of the office to relax and do some fishing.

Maybe I'll just go myself!

Many thanks,
Joan
