Does anyone know the type of business that uses 200 litre drums, and may sell them in a second hand state?
Just trying to get a lead as to where I might pick one up at the
Gold Coast.

The people who sell distilled
water use then (de-ionised
water)
In
Brisbane we had them at the Tube Mill at Orrcon
you could phone Orrcon and ask the maintenance group if they have any empties or if they could give you a contact number

Be cautious as to the source of them and that they haven't been used to store bodies (a la bodies in the barrels -

A quick check for the odd severed hand or foot in the barrel will usually be the giveaway.
Hey, why am I saying this - it's sick, sick, sick!!

Garbutt, you are looking just a tad too jocular about it on your cycle. Have you just crossed the line some way?

Best to be cunning enough in life to be careful chosing which to cross and which to not cross. That is aside from the legal ones.
I will be careful to watch in my mirror for a tail high cyclist with lights blazing if I stray at all close GB, on my way home from Warraweena. Sure DL will make sure we meet.

camp fire king". Blaze away. LOL Think the Lad (and Lady) will still be going to Warraweena

Try a produce
shop. They usually sell bulk feed in them and often have a few empties lying around that they'll sell you. I've bought smaller ones (say 50lt or so) from them for usually around $10-$15 for my dry dog food. They are usually airtight as
well.
Cheers
Scoey!

Yep!
A place in Sandringham, Victoria sells them in the secondhand state, 100's of them from between $20 & $60 ea.
I use them in a '
grey water collection system' under my house.

They would enhance the look of the Jeepney carrying them home.
In my travels I saw that the Carabinieri had a Land Rover that was a child of Ms Lucy. It had an ugly bonnet on the front, obviously hiding something, perhaps a plastic drum on the front would help Lucy?

How many hundreds of them do you need ?
Look in yellow pages for DRUM Reconditioners. Don't pay any more that $20 for a 200 lt drum.

Hi All,
Just a word of caution!
Quite a lot of these drums (when new) were used to store fairly toxic herbicides/pesticides/industrial chemicals.
Some may not have been properly decontaminated before re-cycling.
Be aware of this risk

Best price $25 (Produce store) worst $45 at Pump/
Tank shop.
Trevor that Orccon send the drums back to supplier they told me.

Hi Pedro
I bought one a couple of months ago from Quality Pumps in Olsen Ave at Labrador for $35 Previously they varied as to the contents so I checked the labels wich were still on for the least hazardous.
Cheers Dave

Just watch out the leakage at the fold points when they have been through the postal slot Blaze. Think they may produce an Australia Post bonanza on the way to you.

Managed to get one at a Chemical place for $15 (last one too).

there are a few farms in the hinterland, you'd probably get one for free but you'd have to clean it....

Reiner,
Am down the
Gold Coast and, as mentioned above, have arranged to pick one up tomorrow for $15.
Thanks to all for help in finding one.
I am going to use it to cover a pump to be used with
water tank.

Thanks to all.
Drum has been cleaned, cut and now sits over my tank pump.
A lot cheaper than the $180 I was quoted for a custom built cover.
All I need now is some rain!!
