Is it worth visiting the Nattai National Park if I want to engage the front diff?

I have been looking at my maps trying to find somewhere to go for a day or weekend trip. I live close to the M5 so south west from Sydney is good for me. Nattai and the Belanglo State Forest, I am aware of its infamous visitor and have no desire to follow in his footsteps, look like they may be of interest.

Can anyone confirm the need for a front diff to explore these areas? Or is there somewhere else similar distance, closer would be better, from SW Sydney where I can go and play?

Don't bother with Nattai NP, you're not even allowed to ride a pushbike through there anymore.
Belangalo is good, there's also Jellore SF near Mittagong, Yerranderie as already mentioned, Appin etc.

Hey Festy
Where is the access to the Jellore SF- are there good trails thru there??
Also, I think ?? the Appin area, right thru to Wedderburn, has been shut out pending a title claim ??

If you your looking for a little adventure then the Domain or Parramatta Park would be my choice before Nattai. The first two have joggers and cyclists you can dodge or should you desire engage 4WD and run down. Natai has nothing other than the drive to get there.

4wd park at cronulla/kurnell. Good way to kill a day down at boat harbour. Take a ski rope and a old surfboard and surf behind the car along the beach. Just watch the dunes for bikes. Havent been there for a few years but used to live in 'the shire' and frequent the park often
