V8 Troopie
I have a compressor in my troopie. Its rigged to a bull bar tube air tank and an air outlet front and back. So far so good. I connect an air hose to this outlet and begin filling the tyre. Its only a little (ARB) compressor so this process takes some time. The gage thingie on the end of the air hose requires one to press the filling thingie firmly onto the valve stem. Ok for a few minutes but very tiring for any length of time.
My question now is: Is there an air hose fitting that can be threaded onto the valve stem to eliminate the 'pressing on' bit? It must be something that can be somehow connected to the metal tube of the inflator gauge thingie. If it exists, where would I get one in
Perth?
I was thinking of machining one on my lathe but cutting such a fine internal thread is not easy and why reinvent it if it were already available?
Thanks,
Klaus

You need this - Air Chuck
Available from any Pneumatic (Air)
shop and possibly Repco, Supercheap, etc.

Hi Klaus,
I use the same air chuck that Sand Man mentions and provided the link for (left one). Its a great secure fitting that only lets air out once it is fitted so when you unclip and go to the next tyre, the compressor builds up pressure again which is let out as soon as you clip on.

David

Just had to replace my air chuck. Cost me about $15.00 for a good one.
It was starting to leak and not grip the valve stem properly, and had to hold it by hand. It is 10 years old.
Now I can walk away and do some other things while the old blue tongue does it's job, like checking the other tyres for a pressure reading.

V8,there is a dual foot, threaded, air chuck that you push on and slightly twist.Hard to explain, about 150mm long. From Rema Tip Top (93562811) or Beissbarth (92041455) I think its called a dual foot lock on chuck.Rema in
Welshpool Beissbarth in ossie park.Hope this helps.Barry
