Getting a new 2nd hand boat next week and its got a GPS. Never used one before. Does anyone know of a good fishing book with GPS readings for hot fishing spots around Aussie. Staying around Northern NSW till September then off to SA to pick up new tray top camper so will fish down there

Hi Colin,
Are you serious?
No self respecting fisherman will ever give away the location of his "hot spots".
The idea of a GPS is to record the "hot spots" you find so that YOU can find them again, not every other bugger.
Fishing is a relaxation, catching fish is a bonus.
Relax and enjoy the experience, don't try to catch every fish in the ocean.
Happy fishing.
Disco

People who strike a good spot are rather keen to keep the spots to themselves. I know members of our club will only give a spot to others whom tag and release and not rape and pillage and are sworn to keep it secret punishment by death (joking) if they tell someone.
You could try Ausfish just type in google, ask there someone I'm sure will know of a book or site to go to.
Good luck and have a nice trip with plenty of fish should be heaps of
tailor, jew and mackerel about to keep you interested.

I Googled "North Australian Fish Finder" and what do you know! You can get the latest edition from the ExploreOz
shop for $26.95. An excellent publication for northern Australia from
Geraldton to
Gladstone. Beaut maps, tips, GPS waypoints and more. May not be secret spots but it gives you a start in a place you've never visited before.
