This is for anyone who went to the Brisbane Caravan Show this weekend. We don't see this brand of CT in WA. I've emailed for a price list, just out of curiousity, but no answer so far.

They certainly look good. Anyone have any feedback on prices, quality etc?

Didn't go to the Brizzy show but we considered this brand. From memory they were too expensive for what we wanted to spend I'd say you're looking at 25k plus anyway- can't remember exactly though. Brochures took a while to get to us in the mail from most places and we're in country NSW - so expect to wait at least a week for them to make it to WA.

We did decide to go for a soft floor and ended up with an All Terrain Camper trailer from the Sydney show instead.

ODYSSEY OFF ROAD CAMPER
The Odyssey is the benchmark in the off road hard floor class and is at the
forefront of camper trailer technology. It offers unrivalled performance
and build quality. No other manufacturer can match our design and
innovation strategy, a strategy that gives our customers the very latest
camping features. The features of the Odyssey allow you to tour our
beautiful country unrestricted by track or road conditions, in absolute
comfort, safety & style.
ODYSSEY XR $31,500.00
The Odyssey XR is a fully off road capable camper ready for your next
adventure. It comes fully equipped with great features such as
independent trailing arm coil suspension, electric brakes, huge storage
areas, ergonomically designed state of the art kitchen with 187L pantry

ODYSSEY ZR $33,500.00

truly luxury camper. Having no pilot light the hot water system is
completely odourless and gives you hot showers in just minutes. As an
added bonus hot water is also plumbed to the sink, saving you lots of time

four years in all off road conditions. The ensuite is very quick and easy to
erect and provides luxury and privacy. The ZR can also be fitted with the
optional children’s room, boat loader or 970 litre front storage system.
ODYSSEY EXPORT $41,000.00

We owned and operated a ZR. It was in fact the first one they built for that range.
Used it extensively in Queensland and NSW and did the trip from Brisbane to Broome and back via the Savannah.
An absolute dream to tow. Great for ease of set up and convienence. Was everything we could have asked for. The suspension is tremendous. The construction superb and it had every feature offered by KK at about $5/6000 less cost.
We were caught in rain at Rockhampton and from park to full annex took 27 minutes. Ok so we had three months practice and it was wet. The motivation was strong.
The best selling point is that in about f years I have only ever seen three or four for sale second hand. Ours was one because wife developed a health problem which restricted us in our travelling so we changed to a van.
Have a real soft spot for the Odyssey.

Had our ZR for just under 3 years now and can't say enough good things about it. One of the very few high ticket items that we've purchased that we can honestly say has exceeded our expectations.

Not only is it a first class piece of equipment, but the people who own the company (Steve & Rhonda) are first class also.

I don't think there's a better designed and built hard floor camper trailer out there.

(Usual disclaimer ..... just very satisfied customers)

Cheers ..... Geoff

G'day Brian
great minds think alike...

Gone Bush
We had an Odyssey and now have a Phoenix. Sold the camper for $2k less than we paid for it after 2.5 yrs. Always had total confidence in the camper. Probably still the highest quality one out there, although the KK caravan looks good but $65k is a bit rich.

G'day gonebush, I, like many others have gone through the same dilemma.
I settled on an Odyssey ZR and ordered it in February. Still got another month to go before delivery. :<(( Just when Warraweena is on.

Anyway, they are quite expensive, but the quality is there as far as I can see.

I spoke to them last week regarding my delivery, and they were quoting November delivery before they even ent to the Brissy Show, so I guess that says something about their product.

I wanted hard floor one that would last, and I am not really the type to build my own add ons aferwards.

I hope I have done the right thing.

Like others, we have the Odyssey ZR. It's now done about 24,000 KM, at least 7,000KM off bitumen. Two big trips (16 weeks and 11 weeks) and many shorter ones.
Good trailer. Well built and very tough. We've had water two thirds up the kitchen drawer and none got in. Also virtually no dust entry despite the roads we have been on.

They are not cheap, but top quality never is.

Had a real good look at one at the Maitland 4x4 show and was impressed with it ( didn't like the salesmans bagging of the KK product )

The only thing I wasn't sure about was the access to the inside storage when the camper was closed up ??
How do you load it up with clothes etc before you go away camping ??
Surely you don't have to open the camper out to access the under bed area ??

Gronk, there is no outside access. Some may see this as a disadvantage. We don't.

The builder pretty much guarantees that they are dust and water proof and says that over time, an outside access would let some of both in. Certainly, after some serioius trips, we have found his claim of no dust or water to be on the mark.

We don't open the camper at home before a trip. We leave towels, sheets, pillows, canned food etc in the camper all the time. For a trip, we only need to add fresh food and clothes. We simply toss our clothes in a big plastic bag and carry in the vehicle. On our first stop, we pack into the drawer under the bed (which I have partitioned inot 4 sections).

Works very well for us, but we know a family in our 4WD Club who would have bought an Odessey, but for the lack of outside access. They got a KK instead.

Guess you have to decide what is important to you.

I use the rear door in my KK all the time, to pack and unpack all our clothes and to turn on the charger when we get home..

It would be a major turnoff for us, but obviously not for you ..

The door in the KK is dust proof ( haven't tested it for water ) although at 800mm from the ground , I think the 4x4 would be complaining 1st !!

Apart from running a touch heavier than the KK ( dry weight ) and the rear door problem, I like them.......

I have a KK Escape and was thinking of upgrading to a Limited, but didn't like a few things with the gullwing box ( one was lack of pantry space, other was 15K upgrade cost just for the convenience of a gullwing ) so will stick with the poverty pack !!!!!
