2004 diesel Rodeo engine light comes on engine wont start.? Holden replaced chip with 2007 chip? Fault seemed to disappear. They didnt know what was causing fault. 3 weeks later fault has returned & Holdens still have no idea. Spoke to independant mechanic & he says it must be the computer which is $1000 dollars. I dont care what it costs to fix, its under warranty. But Holdens are clueless. Any one experienced this fault? What do I do next?

Is it just your dealer or Holden itself? Are you country or metro? I found the country dealers appear to know much more about these than their city counterparts, presumeably as they would sell more diesels to farmers. I had problems with my EGR valve and the receptionist in Nhill knew of the problems!!! Keep on their backs as it must be fixed under warranty. New computer, new motor it doesn't matter. Good luck.

Lets correct something here.
You mean the Dealer is clueless. What do you do next?
Ask the dealer to escalate the problem to Holden Service Department. If it's a known problem Holden will have reference for it. If they don't it can then be escalated further to Isusu in Japan.
Keep at the Dealer. If you don't get a satisfactory response from them, you can contact Holden Customer Service.

Had a friend with 2005-2006 Rodeo . Used to stop for no reason and then wouldn't restart. Had lots of trouble getting Holden dealer to fix it but was eventually tracked down to engine immobiliser which was replaced and cured problem

My 2 cents ........ Put it all in writing as you speck to them including dates and keep copies. Maybe worth sending one copy to dealer and one to Holden itself and note it on each just in case one is not talking to the other so to speak hoping you will go away like the problem :)
Hope you sort it out soon :)
