We plan to come down from Onslow and turn off the hwy. south of Yannarie and head for the Kennedy Ranges, Mt. Augustus, and then onto Murchison to Mullewa end of August to see wildflowers. What sort of conditions could we expect?

g'day cruisin tom, if you mean road conditions ,they are good gravel roads, but of course that could change if the rains come.
i was out that way last weekend ,went up through gasgoyne junction, cobra, giffard creek towards lyndon station then out past williambury station and came out on the coast road at minilya. plenty of spots for bush camping [love em].
take ya time and it's a good trip.

I drove some of that road last year from Ashburton River Camp near Onslow. You have to return to GNHwy from Onslow as all other tracks are No Through Roads.

Turned southeast where the Old Barradale RH used to be. The road takes you past Mindin Station and between Mangaroon and Minnie Creek Stations. There is a road camp site on the Lyons River. Cobra Station has camping and Farm stays. Mt Augustus will be worth a climb if you are fit and healthy. Mt Augustus 'Resort" is nothing but a station with some lawn for camping and a demountable for aircond accommodation and some station building. Fuel was 15c/l more expensive there than at Burrungurra Community at Mt James.

It is a nice drive from Lyons River to Mt Agustus and beyond. The roads were gravelly and hadn't been graded for a while but they were good for 80kmh in places. Some parts were badly corrugated. After Mt Augustus and on route to Meeka we struck some parts of the road which had been graded after the summer rains.

Cheers
