Hi all, I have just bought a new 76CSx and have oziexplorer and the natmap premium rasters on my laptop. Could someone please inform me how I can get these maps (some of them at least) onto my GPS. I have tried uploading the rasters to mapsource but that won't let me and I cannot find where to upload the maps from oziexplorer to the GPS. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm no expert, but OziExplorer will send waypoints tracks and
routes to your GPS (check that Ozi is configured correctly for your Garmin). It won't send maps however.
I would have thought that you would copy suitable raster maps onto the SD card and then your Garmin could access them.
I am struggling with all of this too!

The short answer is you can't.
The Garmin map format is proprietary. The Mapsource products are pretty detailed though and you can get additional tracks and topo overlays made by third parties.

As others have said - you can't,
well not without a HUGE effort.
The word "rasters" says it all. They are simply images. Google can help.
Garmin requires suitable vector digital files.
Such data exists.
I'm in NZ but have several suitable programs.
If you want to have detailed street level maps then Garmin Mapsorce is probably required = $$$.
For similar detail to your NapMap product try Shonky Maps - Free:
Warning a LARGE download 340MB.
You could also try Tracks4Australia. Most rural roads and tracks - Free:
40MB
If anyone wants New Zealand street level autorouting Garmin maps:
Interesting! ExplorOz wont' allow some links. Wonder why??
Will try each in a followups.

The only mapping software you can upload into a Garmin unit is Garmins Mapsource and Tracks4Australia

Skippy
The name is enough to put me off. and I can,t see where a free map set can be better than what I've got , Napsource and T4A together in my Nuvi is in my opinion unbeatable.
