Hi Mike,
The desert is open for business withouit any real issues other than for a desert crossing. the tracks through Finke to the Ghan, the
Andado track and the road to
Kulgera are all OK. Same applies for tracks from Mt Dare to Dalhousie and
Oodnadatta.
Come and enjoy.
Cheers
Ian @ Mt Dare

Big Mike - just picked up your message today. We went on the Plenty about 4 weeks ago and stayed o/nite at Tobermorey. On the NT side much of it is good but there are patches of crook corrugations and bulldust holes. There is a fair bit of gravel and some of that is obviously hard on the tyres, with big gravel and some ridges of rock in the road, but fine if you take it slow. I was in a Prado, towing a
Southern Cross O/road camper trailer. did one tyre about 100k from Tobermory when a metal bracket off a muffler went through the drivers side rear wall. Apart from some clown complaining that I was "only doing 80kmh" for the last 50km it was a good trip. Contrary to what I was told in Alice, the Qld side was much better than the NT side. The folk at Tobermorey are very welcoming and it's a
good campsite (power if you want it, until the genny goes off), and showers etc.
Trust this is helpful.
Craig.
