Hi all,

Is anyone interested in going for a day trip to somewhere interesting in the Sydney area one weekend in the near future?

I'm still relatively new to the area and to off road driving so don't want to head off out on my just yet. Anyone willing to be a guide?

I've recently got a new bullbar and a suspension lift fitted so I'm wanting to get my money's worth! :)

I thought I'd sneak it in before you did,

I may also attend if things continue to progress well with my back, I wont commit until a day so so prior though.

As of today I'm back to work for 4 x half days a week, it is nearly 10 weeks off on sick leave and hospital stays ATM.
I am annoyed that I can't make to the national gathering as well, but next year may be different :)

Hi there Sam, I'm north of you by about 2 hours, near Newcastle, and a good mate is necessary for security at anytime when you are in 4wd territory. Nearby there are the Stockton dunes and Stockton beach, and I would like to go there and maybe throw in a bait for some salmon/tailor/jewies if the opportunity arises, I know of the Lavis Lane approach having been there and failed in a little AWD Terios previously. I have a stock Challenger, ...snatch strap and a shovel is my total recovery gear. Oh yeah, and the set of Coopers may help. Cheers, Chris.

Hi!

A second vehicle is always a good idea which is why I am trying to find people to come out for drives with me. I am fairly new to this 4wd malarky and new to NSW so I still don't know what areas/where there is to go so I am always open to suggestions for places.

As for Stockton Beach etc, I'd love to give sand driving a go (but I'm not into fishing) or if there are are any other trecks you know of that are somewhere in between kind of Newcastle and Sydney then I'm up for a day out then. I'm guessing there must be *something* in one of the state parks north of Syndey.

Let me know if you are free one weekend (I can't do this weekend)! I think you can email from here can't you?

Oh, and as for my car, I have a Disco 1, with a 2" suspension lift, BFG AT KOs, Bullbar, Winch, rock sliders, a few dents and scratches. My recovery gear includes bow shackles, snatch strap and a shovel but tomorrow I am going out to get a tree trunk protector/equaliser strap and a tow hitch receiver. And a new hitch pin.
