Any recent info on access and
camping in Danggali CP would be appreciated.
We are thinking of going though this
park on our way to Warraweena.
Thanks.

Been a couple of years since we camped there, but was good bush
camping area there then, maybe even more than one now.
All gravel roads usually in reasonable condition.
I think it would make a good alternative to come through that way.
Seeya there
Cheers Pesty

Hi Chris.
We went through Danggali last year. Very easy going & very interesting. Traveling along the Barrier Hwy from
Broken Hill, we found that there was no public access on the roads heading south until
Yunta. Natmap indicated that there was public access from
Cockburn on the Barrier Hwy but we were greeted by a BIG
sign saying the opposite. Other access is via the
Burra - Silver City Hwy road & south from the
Murray river.

Thanks Tony, we are thinking of going from
Menindee Lakes through Dannggali and then on to
Yunta so the BIG signs will not be a worry I hope....

If you're going to approach from Meinindee, then why not consider going down to Pooncarrie and then head west from there? We've done it a few years ago, but I can't remember all the details.
You have to cross the Silver City Hwy (I think that's it's name...the one that goes between
Wentworth and B/
Hill) and there is a track that skirts around
a sanctuary owned by that conservationist "cat-hat" bloke Walmsley. That then takes you up through a property whose name is is
Loch-something. Sorry for the sketchiness of my comments, but doing it that way takes you into Dangalli from the easterly direction.
Good luck and see you there in a couple of weeks
Roachie

Thanks Roachie,
I know exactly what you mean as I have been looking over the maps for a few days now. I think Walmsley is no longer in the business and Scotia Sanctuary is being run by a new conservation company. The other descriptions are clear to me, thanks.
