Well after deciding two years ago to do another big one, we are off on Sunday for 1 month -
Perth -
Pilbara - Karajini - Carawine - Kununnura -
Gibb River Road and back home via
Broome
If anyone is up that way in July look out for us
Three
Kimberley Kampers (Toyota 100 series, Toyota 89 series and an F250)
Another mate purchased a BRAND new Jeep Wrangler on Monday & is coming with us - also towing a Camper Trailer (not sure what) It will be interesting to see how he goes with a brand new vehicle - has not even done 50ks yet !!!!!

Hi Trekkie,
Half you luck - get away from
Perth's miserable cold weather!
Carrawine is nice, and take an inflateable if you can. Also, if you can, drop into
Running Waters, further upstream on the Oakover, tho with CTs, might be tricky, as it's a bit rough over rocks.
Will be up there later in August, can't wait!

Might leave the trailers at Carrawine & do a day trip to
Running Waters

Yeh,
Running Waters is a magic spot; there's a warm mineral spring feeding it, so the
water's about 30deg, the pools are deep, flanked by cadjeputs. Picture-postcard stuff. And there are decent sized catfish in the
water. A bit rocky getting in, and the campsites are small and limited, so using Carrawine as a base is probably a good idea. After turning off the Woody Woody road on to the
Nullagine track, cross the Oakover, and look out for a metal kangaroo (made of tangled steel!) perched on top of a small
hill. This marks the turnoff into
Running Waters. You'll see a few bits of metal art (!) on hilltops inthe area, apparently made during some army exercise a few years back.
Have a great trip
Gerry
