Just a pitty you wern't up here now Colin , I read what you had to say about Cairns with the un season rain ,, can't blame you for it , we're sick of it too , but it's just brilliant at the moment , clear cool nights , the best days ,, hope we can do better for you if there is a next time ..

All the best ,, Neil ..

Hi Neil & Margie

That was all tounge in cheek as you well know, we loved our trip, but the Cairns sux joke about Green Island & the rain etc was the topic of the club the whole trip. We even said that Green Is was just like the lost city of Atlantis, its fictional, no ones ever seen it. I would not need much coaxing to return up there.
Enjoy the sunshine guys.
Colin

Haha ,, yours might have been tongue in cheek , but mine wasn't ,, i'm jack of the rain , have had bugger all long fine stints since cyclone Larry & Monica ,, thought about moving to Brisbane ,, but then it started raining there as well ,, all in all , i've been here far too long to even think about leaving ,, just have to hope this lot of fine days keep rolling on !!

Hey mate,
Well done, looks like a great trip with much adventure, high points, low points, exitement and this is what it's all about, being prepared to take on journeys such as that. Plus, come home safely to share the experience and relive the Journey.
I am a little dissapointed that your camera went swimming but more than happy that Renate is ok after such an ordeal at Nolan's Brook.
Nice one Colin, Thanks for sharing and hoping to see the rest of the pics soon.
Hope to do a trip in September some time too.
Peter

Reading about your trip brought shivers to my spine because one of our guys also came to grief at Nolans Brook (bridge creek)....
He went straight through the middle and a bit of floatation took over and he had no traction and then got bogged not long after...
It took us 52 seconds to recover him and already his car had takin in the required amount of water to make his interior a mess..
It was very soft this year and the left side was definately the go as we were heading north..
Did you guys end up going through on the way north or did you bypass?
