Travelled from ilkurlka road house to
Coober Pedy at
easter.
SA side has plenty of corregations there were no boggy sections at the time.
A bit slow going.
heaps of flies, no camels & plenty of insects at night.
A big burnt out section from a lightening storm.

Travelled parts of it 5 weeks ago. Hasn't been graded for over 40 years :-)))
Emu to
Coober pedy is the badly corrugated section, particularly towards Emu.
West of Emu has the odd stretch of corrugations, but its no big deal.
Hard to know about rain - it doesn't get measured out there. Rain's not usually an issue out there.
The vegetation was lush, the spinifex was
young and it was very pleasant.
Plenty of people damage their vehicles out there - keep the speed down and lower the tyre pressures, and you have agood chance of getting through unscathed.
Cheers
Phil

Came across West to East 2 weeks ago - no rain and the track on WA side is great. SA side is bit rougher especially after Emu to
Mabel Creek Stn - the corrugations are terrible.
I would leave another trip to later in the year to hopefully to get some flowers ect. and maybe it would be a bit warmer - down to -4 on one night.
Good luck

Thanks Colin. -4 degrees means clear days but I think there is a change, maybe some rain.
