Hi Kev,
Yes we had a great trip. Gave the winch a really good workout when we got hopelessly bogged on the North bank of Canal
Creek. Single line pull until she pulled no more then double line from there. Inched out slowely but took a good 40 minutes to do so. Camper was around 2.8 and car around same so all up 5.6 ton bogged up to the sills.
The OTL was hard but we drove it with camper with no major issues (except getting bogged and the car suddenly stopping just South of Gunshot due to a broken fuel shutoff solenoid wire which was diagnosed and fixed in around 20 minutes).
Saw and heard of lots of horror stories of people drowing their cars in
Ducie creek and Nolans Brook. Reasons why - PEOPLE NOT WALKING
CREEK CROSSINGS! They would drive straight in and go through the deepest hole in the
creek which in the case of Ducie and Nolans was just below chest height.
Insurance covered everything to do with the fire without question and I have an open case if anything further is found. Really happy with them but still pi$$ed off wth the Accesory
shop who is still denying that they stuffed up (the winch was supposedly stuffed when they tested it but auto electrician gave it the all clear on a second opinion). So happy with end result.
Trip report is being written and will post photo's soon.
Regards
David
