Has anyone tried the track from Alice Springs to Rudall River NP(WA) via Sandy Blight Junction recently? Thinking of trying the trip with our Kimberley Kamper. Any info appreciated.

Are you an OziExplorer user? If so we would love a trek note for this route? The reason for the OziExplorer question is that all trek notes must have a digital data file supplied as this is what we build the driving note from (and of course submissions from the traveller). If interested we are happy to pay a fee provided the notes are supplied to the specs, if not enjoy the trip anyway and let us know how you get on.

David,
Have'nt had experience with OziExplorer as yet, however we would be interested in getting more information as we enjoy doing remote treks.

Owen M,

We travelled this road between the 25th May and the 3rd June 2007. We towed our Trakmaster van along with another 7 vans. You will have no trouble with your Kimberley. Dearest fuel was at Kunawarritji community near well 33 at $2.80 per litre. They only take cash no cards. Email me if you require more info...

RnR,
Thanks for info - I notice permits are required, did you get them in Alice?. We were under the impression it was more a track, but your photos tell a different story and looks a bit like the Tanami. We were at Carawine Gorge 3 yrs ago but did'nt go further east.

Owen M,

NT permit picked up in Alice. The WA permit request faxed to Perth who replied via email. Of course no one ever asks to see them. Its a waste of time. There are good and bad sections all along the road. There were some rough patches around Punmu. Quite a bit of road works happening to the west of the CSR intersection but generally no problems.
