Can anyone please give any advise about the best way to fold a Freedom Family Tourer 1310? I have recently purchased one and used it a few times and found it to be an excellent tent. However, I've tried folding it as instructed on the freedom website and haven't had much luck.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Cheers
Carra

you can never get them back in the bag can ya!
only answering because its the same shape as my oztent 10plus.
basic trick is that non of the groundsheet( which is usually wet/muddy) should touch canvas.
i drop the tent, with the square roof poles exactly below where they are when erected.
fold the front (from the door) over the square pole bit.
fold the back section forwards to meet the previous edge.
at this stage you should have all groundsheet on top and bottom and canvas to canvas.
you can then fold to suit your bag.
i always put a sheet under the tent, which is a few inches smaller than the groudsheet, to keep as much dirt off the bottom.
if the sheet under is bigger, rain will get between and pool under the groundsheet.
good luck

Thanks Howie

I'll give this a try.
I can get it in the bag but its hard to get the creases out.

As for the ground sheet, I have been using shade cloth as suggested in other threads but the bottom is always really wet when I pull it down. I assume your groundsheet is a tarp. How does this work?

just saw jeffwa's reply but if your tent is like mine its not easy to take the square roof poles out and roll it.
the tarp is the same shape as the tent floor but about 3/4 inches smaller all round.
if the tarp is bigger than the floor of the tent, the rain will seep underneath and stay there.
nothing will keep the bottom completely dry, but i find it keeps more dirt off the bottom than shade cloth.
i find shadecloth better for outside the door area.

Just buy a decent BIG canvas bag for it with a draw string. Fold, fold, roll it up like a swag. That's what I do with my canvas tent and it's quick and easy.

Carra, If you are close to Melb, pop into their shop in Elizabeth street when in the city next and they will show you how to pack it away.
