As we were heading towards Warraweena I had no idea of what to expect. It wasn't the scenery, I knew that would be impressive. It was the thought of coming face to face with so many "names" that had become familiar to me although "faceless". It was sort of like having read the book and then going to see the movie.
What was the most pleasing about meeting everyone was the friendliness and the immediate acceptance everyone showed to each other. So thank you all for a wonderful few days.
We had two days of driving. The first was through the
creek beds and then up to the misty heights of Mt Gill with Willem in the lead. We felt a little outnumbered being the only Toyota in the group!! The second drive was to old Warraweena
homestead and further until we ran out of track, then back and out the Mt Hack track. Thanks to Baz and Kerry for leading the way. Both drives were good fun and had their share of challenges.
Thanks to Willem for organising the gathering, to Judith for looking after everyone, and to Stoney & Gina for all the work they did to make our stay so successful.
The highlights for me were meeting so many interesting and knowledgeable people, making new friends and having so many laughs. Lastly, I was glad to have met Noel Fullarton. He's such a remarkable and almost legendary man & I could've listened to his stories for hours.
Happy travels to everyone still tripping around and to those heading homewards. I hope we can meet up again, soon.
Viv

It was good to meet you Viv and concur that it was indeed a great trip. It's amazing how a common interest can bring strangers from all over this country to gather and mingle with such warmth and friendliness. My wife was very nervous the first time we went to am EO get together but now some of our best friends are amongst them.

G'day Viv, pleased you and Ray got home safely. The ones that weren't at Warraweena aret the ones who really won't know how good it was. We have to continue telling them.
NickR called me last night from
Wilpena Pound and had met with JohnR (Vic) as distinct from me, and Twinkles as
well so was around the
camp fire talking with them last night.
We have talked to a few SA members since we got here, Willem, Roachie, Brew and Des Lexic too. Had a riotous trip down hearing the stories of Willem and George. Am thinking of a Pyrenees trip the second weekend of November but you may be thinking harvest then, hope it will fit though. Hope it wouldn't be an election weekend to stuff us all up

John,
The Pyrenees sounds great and hopefully we can fit it in before harvest. We'd really like to.
What a good trip you would've had with Willem and George. They would have some amazing tales to tell I imagine!!
All the best to you and Heather and hope that you're soon back on the road.

Gday
Well what a great trip . I agree with all who have posted and agree with all that was said . I would like to thank those that organised this great trip and to all the nice people that had time to talk, thanks..
I would like to also thank the truck drivers that helped me get home at 2 am..by chating . Also Nissan for putting so many lights and knobs on the dash to play with while driving. Touching and turning of these things help to keep old muzbry awake.
Well i must go back to work.
