Thanks in advance

The new ST tyre, to be designated STC (the C stands for "chip resistant") will be available ex-USA early next quarter. I think that means July. The STC is the direct result of feedback to Coopers from the folk at Exclusive Tyres up there in sunny Brisabane. They are very friendly and helpful folk. The new "chip resistance" apparently comes from a new compound. The sizes will initially be limited to 245/75R16, 265/75R16, 285/85R16 and one other I can't remember.

My info comes directly from Exclusive Tyres (the local distributor). I'll post the other size tomorrow when I recover the details from my office email.Be good, or be quick.

Here's an extract from the reply I received from Exclusive Tyres - "Firstly the ST-C will be available ex USA next quarter but to start with only in the sizes 265/75R16 ST 10ply, 235/85R16 ST 10ply, 245/75R16 St 10ply and the 225/75R6 ST 10ply."Be good, or be quick.

Suppose you tried the obvious dealer - Discount Tyre Services @ Moorooka ? That's where I got my STs 2 years ago

Discount Tyre Service have recently changed their name to "Fourby's". I am sure Jamie, John and the crew there will look after you well.

I have had my Cooper ST's on my Prado RV 3.0L TD for 55,000 Km's now and they have only worn about 6mm of tread. They started with 14mm of tread - so going by that I should get 100,000 Km's out of the set. Great going considering that they get thrown at everything from Mud, rocks, sand, bull dust and dirt roads + bitumen.

Only bad thing is you need to get them 'serviced' (balanced etc.) every 10,000 Km's to keep the warranty - but most folks should do this anyway to extend tyre life. I can't recomment them highly enough! Great tyre!
