Another question regarding the 2.6lt Jackaroos.
I was offered a 91 dual fuel Jackaroo with 320.000 km. It has mainly been driven on the highway, rarely off road.
A friend warned me that engines generally start to break after more than 200.000 km. On the other hand I've heard that the 2.6lt. Jacks have very long lasting engines.
Anybody made own experiences?

They are a long lasting motor, but the head would be up to its use by date. Their is a low mileage v6 jack , one owner on car sales for I think about 5 grand, that would be a better buy.
One other tip if you ask for info and recieve it, thank those that took the time to reply to you, its good manners.
O the Jack was in
Sydney and was a
grey colour

Seems to be lacking here, just a thanks sometimes is all it takes, or maybe a follow up if ya get it sorted. One of my pet hates on here as
well, people who ask and run.
Cheers Stefan

Hi Pete,
thanks for your infos and sorry for my seeming lack of gratefulness.
I purposely did not post another message as these threads might be a source of information for other people in the future and it gets difficult to read if there are comments not directly related to the topic.
Maybe this was a misjudgement.

Thats ok Achim1,
Their was a post on that rtefered to a 2.6 in
Melbourne(couriers vehicle) that had covered 700000ks. Their are still low mileage ones arround. Last year we brought a 93 gls paj with 63000ks on with log books. No problems to date . You just have to keep looking.
Cheers Pete

have a bit of a look and a listen to it,I bought a ford laser that had 365000 km on original motor and drove great, point is if its made it to 320000, its a gooden, there's a heap of poeple out there that have spent $50k plus on a vehicle and didn't get that far.
don't worry about what the speedo say's, have a close look/listen at some others ,get a feel, then judge for your self.
Shane
PS no experiences with Jacks ,all brands have real beauty's/pigs and I believe that it is luck of the draw
