Will be travelling around Australia and expect to travel on Tollways in
Sydney and
Melbourne, are there any in
Adelaide or
Perth and does anyone know what to do with automatic tags, do they work Australia wide or only state?

None in
Perth, and unless set up in the last twelve months, none in
Adelaide.
Can't help with the tags.
Cheers

Gday
I am lead to believe that the tags in
Melbourne work in
Sydney , and the tags in
Sydney work in
Melbourne. But you could ring and find out from the horses mouth so to speak. Phone no.....132629

got on the tollway by mistake leaving
melbourne and called the number and gave the rego and they said oh thats extra cos its a commercial vehicle. A hilux! Its our family car. They have a line drawn around Victoria on the map and I am keeping this side of it in future. I dont wonder why everone is leaving the place.

No need for the tags - you can just get an account - does the same thing.
Cheers
Andrew.

DingerBell, When we went to
Melbourne en route to Tasmania, we needed to cross
Melbourne via the tollway. We researched that it could be paid the next day at any Vic
Post Office - not much help as we were crossing Bass Strait next day. We then discovered that most Shell servos have an ATM like machine for purchasing the tag, and purchased a day tag (choice of time frames) at the servo just before the Bridge. I don't think there was any surcharge for the caravan, and we paid something like $9, although that was last year and my memory could have got that wrong.

I live in
Brisbane and infrequenly use the
gateway bridge(tollway) so I got an Etag which sticks on the windscreen, and on a recent 'round the country cruise I found that Etag works in
Melbourne,
Sydney and
Brisbane,came in real handy in
Melbourne when I found myself on a toll way.no worrys ,just drove on thru, got the distinctive beep, all good, same in
Sydney.
In answer to you question I can say for SURE ,YES it will work interstate
