Iwas hoping someone could point me in the right direction for a battery tray that would slot straight into my Jackaroo.I was hoping the original 2nd battery tray from the latest Turbo Deisel would go in but not so.

Hi Spencer I have installed a dual battery in my 2001 jack petrol. I made my own holder to suit a 1000 odyssey which is 199 long x 168 wide x 188 high and it sits over the cruise control. I laid the battery on it's side so the width of the battery was upright. Because the battery has a high cca rating of 600a I was able to make this my starting battery and the tray that's already in the jack I use for my deep cycle battery. I believe you can buy the battery holders but you have to move the cruise control ( I didn't want to ). If you want photo's I can e-mail then to you .

Hi Geoff,

I'd be interested in the photos to see how you did it. I'm the same as you as in not wanting to move the cruise control actuator. Send to savvas_e@yahoo.com.au

Thanks...Savvas

Spencer
I have a battery tray which I removed from my 2000 model Jackaroo when I sold it. It fits at the rear of the engine bay on the passengers side. I,m based in Sydney. I,m will sell at a well discounted price on new.

Hi Spencer, I did the mod on my Jackaroo myself. I could not find anything suitable to purchase so i made my own battery cradle to fit over near the cruise control and power steer unit. I ended up moving my start battery over to that side and this allowed me to fit a large 135 amp/hr deep cycle where the original battery was. I use a Rotronics battery controller. A bit of mucking around (took me a day to do it all) but now a great system.
