fantastic quote!!!!!

from where did it come???

P.S. here's a favourite of mine:

All things considered there are only two kinds of men in the world – those who stay at home and those who do not.
Rudyard Kipling.

Gday Rick,

Yeah I love that quote - its from the biography of Hubert Wilkins - 'The Last Explorer - Hubert Wilkins, Australia's Unknown Hero'.

A great read. He was truly an amazing fellow. I think everyone on this forum would like to read about some of the adventures he had. Antarctic explorer, war photographer, reporter, aviator and more.

He flew over the ice in Antarctica (the first person to do so) and under it in a submarine!

I just can't believe I had never heard of him prior to reading this book.

Thanks Earvin.

Yes, got the book & read it - must have just 'missed' the quote.

His family house has been restored in recent years, with assistance from Australian Geographic. It is near Mt Bryan, and well worth a visit as it is on the margins of cropping & station country; very close to the famous "Collinsville" station in the mid-north of S.A. This is one 'gateway' to the outback, yet only two hours from Adelaide.

Here's another quote to titillate you:

It is better to travel hopefully than arrive.

Nice one.

Maybe a quote thread needs to be started.

Ivan,

The "other" fridge doesn't come in "seconds" grade.

ah, but I agree - seconds in this discussion would of course be cosmetic discrepancies only ;-)

I'm not sure if you intend using the Waeco option or not, but a word of advice if you are...

(I am a happy customer but could easily have not been)

1. Waeco have different ratings of damage - it's worth discussing with them exactly what is on offer.

2. Their dispatch guys control which actual fridge so you won't get to decide on a fridge an know exactly what damage it has. In my case, it had a bad glueing of an internal seam - it could easily have had an external dent of crack, and you won't get to decide which

3. They only offer a limited warranty

4. They have sales from time to time throughout the year when the prices come down even further on what they have in stock - watch their site.

Cheers
Andrew.

There are good deals at the moment in that size from all suppliers.

Waeco 50 with bag and free power cable and hold down brackets. $1199
Engel 40 with bag and promotional gear. $1195.00
Sidewinder 50 with bag, thermometer and free freight. $949.00

All around the $1000.00 mark.

I would look at a new one if possible.

Off their website:

CoolFreeze CF-50 AC-d
Seconds - Priced to Clear
CF-50 AC
Normal Retail: $999.00
GetaWAECO Price: $700.00

Still not a bad price for a scratch on the side or whatever.

I bought a 45L Thermo cooler of that site a few years ago before I had the fridge and you couldn't tell there was anything wrong with it AND their service was bloody brilliant, they freighted the big huge thing to Perth in 2 days for bugger all cost!
