Why not go by yourself and enjoy the space and beauty by yourself. Did this last winter and it was great.... Dave S

thanks to those who advised me to go it alone. I would like to talk to some one about their experience and to get some info on the conditions and perhaps some tips.

We did the Simpson from east to west along the french line last month towing a one ton tandem trailer solo. Use your common sense and prepare well and it really is no big deal. Relax and enjoy yourselves it is not as if you will be alone out there ;-)

Go by yourself and you will find heaps of people doing the same as yourself!! Worried... wait at Mt Dare and join someone!! It's really busy out there some days.. watch for bad weather though, that will change any best laid plans !

John I agree - we did it on our own and our biggest excitement was rescuing a motorbike rider whose bike had blown up - we were suprised at the amount of people travelling the Simpson. It may even be worth timing to coincide with the Birdsville races when there are even more people travelling it.

Colin,

If you are a bit worried about travelling alone, or are inexperienced do what my family and I have just done.
Go on a tagalong tour. We have just completed a 13 week trip across Australia with the first 4 weeks being a
transcontinent crossing withOutback tagalong Tours from Albury. We crossed the Simpson with them and it
was fantastic. Apart from the things we learned the company of the other 17 travellers was great.

If you want to find out about their trips, including Simpson Desert crossings go to their web site.
www.outbacktagalong.com.au

Or you can go to my website www.hotkey.net.au/~gcwright to read about our experiences.

Whatever you decide you will have a ball

Regards

Gary
