OK, I had a fantastic query written up and the computer crashed! >:( Not happy Jan!
Having previously owned a Cavalier Off Road CT, I am now with an old caravan and looking to get rid of it and buy another CT for the family (and me of course!)
Having viewed the available options we like the Complete
Campsite and All Terrain CTs. I also like the sound of the
Tambo Cooper and it appears to get rave reviews. What I can't get my head around is the price difference. With the
Tambo I can get every available option (extended tent, awning walls, brakes, fold over boat loader,
water tank, etc) with the absolute max cost in the vicinity of $14K. The other two campers don't even start at this price. I don't want to start an emotive argument, nor do I want a mines better than yours debate. What I am interested in is whether there is that much actual difference between them? I am happy with what I want to do with the camper (which will include off road work) but, not having ready access to Tambos to look at them, I would appreciate any comment, opinion, etc on these or, in fact, others I may have not considered. Probably looking at a cost of around $20K max but, like most people, don't want to spend more than necessary as the money saved is good for trips and mods.
I haven't made my mind up on any particular CT but, given my family structure, a soft floor is the go. My intention isn't to berate any brand, rather start an intelligent discussion over the relative merits of either and whether the $$$ difference is warranted.
Am I being too simplistic here?

Not sure what State you are in, but check out Challenge Camper Trailers in
Adelaide. Their web site is
www.challengecampers.com.au
I have one and am rapt with it. Their prices are good and their trailers are very good quality with great dust sealing and a huge range of options.
Cheers

Hi Rob,
My old scout leader owns and runs
http://www.outbackcampers.com.au/camper.htm
They make a mean swag and also a excellent camper. My dad has the Stuart and that can go anywhere he can. Excellent quality and fully optioned around the price of the
Tambo I think. Lot less than the $20k jobbies. Tad biased I guess but wouldn't recommend if I didn't think it was up to the job. Worth a look anyway.

Bucky, I like the Trak Shak but wife doesn't. Consequently it is off the list.
