Morgan Conservation Park, Hogwash Bend just out from Morgan, Big Bend near Swan reach, Mannum right right over the ferry, Maize Island lagoon Conservation Park just east of Waikerie

What part of the Murray would you like to stay at

Herons Bend behind the Overland corner Pub, it's in the Morgan Consevation Park, an excellent meal can be had at the pub too.

Greendog,

Hogwash Bend north of Cadel, I have only been here during the week, nice spot, but apparently very popular at Easter.

Also Chowilla Station, north of Renmark, fee applies, lots of camp spots..

I reckon I have some GPS points somewhere for above if you want them let me know.

When are you going?

Stick with it.

Regards
Russ

Have to agree with Vox here, depends on what you want... Most of the river below Renmark is pretty packed with Houseboats, skiers etc. Above its mainly fisher peoples and the crowds seem to thin out. Guess it depends what you want and when you intend on going also. There are some great spots between Waikerie and Berri also if its not a long weekend or similar.

Greendog, Not wanting to say vox is wrong, but I believe the ones between Waikerie and Kingston on Murray are quieter most of the time. Their is a great spot called Schultzs Landing with various camps around there. Turn left 16k's after leaving the bakery at Waikerie turn left, 2 k's down this road there is another turnoff to the left. Follow this to the river and pick a spot... If you want a Mud Map let me know and I will send you one. We spent 3 days moored at this sight last year on a houseboat and only seen one other boat...

hi, we have just come back from camping at Morgan and a week on a houseboat (great way to checkout new camping spots). it was very quiet at Morgan, plenty of fire wood, when on the houseboat there was lovely secluded spots that were to the left after coming across the ferry and down a far way. as for the spot that voxson said it reminded me of quite a few years ago we bought a new tent and set off, it was getting dark and we still couldn't find anywhere a local told us about this place and we pitched the tent (having the arguments, kids squawking etc as you do) thought it was a beautiful spot until morning, got up looked outside and we were at the bottom of this hill that was full of shacks and everyone was out on their balconies looking at us, we packed up and left that day. hogwash always seems to have people there, quite busy when we went past.
good luck and happy camping.

Greendog, it all dependds on how far you want to go. Are you north or south of the city? As others have said the Morgan Conservation Park is excellent (2.5 hrs form morphett vale) There are some excellent spots above Mannun e.g Kroehns Landing, Nildotte etc.
We go to a place called Cordolla which is 10 kms from Morgan on the Blanchetown road (Adelaide side of the river) a huge property open to campers with river camping and for a more sedate spot head to the lagoon.

Cheers
Nigel

So Skippy I am guessing that you camped there on April the 29th?

We camped there for 2 dasy in March. We were looking at the interesting tree and had the makings of a cache in the GeoPaj and thought "Why not?"

Cheers

Yep that was me along with a Frog, a Parrot and a Wacky Chick.
I would have never had gone there if it wasn't for Geocaching.

I wonder how many other closet geocachers lurk on here. I found out about the sport on here following a post by dcache, who used to be another South Oz member on here.
