Looking for some pictures and/or descriptions how to fit a dual battery system into a 2000 petrol manual Challenger.
Found a few of websites already but there is a part which has to be relocated and I don't know where to put it.
4x4store provides a cradle and fitting notes, too.
And any suggestions of which battery is of value for using as the auxiliary? (Weekend trips and occasionally
camping, no fridge so far)

Otti,
When it stops raining for a while here in
Sydney, I'll go and take some pics of
mine in the Triton, I'm pretty sure it is the same engine bay set up as the Challenger.
Cheers Kev

Consider fitting a single AGM battery instead.
I have a 1000cca 100AH AGM battery in the Jackaroo - it has run my fridge for 4 days and still started the engine.

Otti,
The second battery is a great idea. I had dramas in putting my second battery under the bonnet of my Hilux so I opted for a second bettery in a pack in the back of the ute and it is great. It is a Flyer from Affordable Batteries and Radiators (no affiliation) and I am pleased with it. I went for a 90 AH AGM battery in
mine.
I disagree with just running one battery if you are planning to run etra appliances such as fridges etc. That's when Murphy's law comes into play occasionally and you could find yourself caught out with a flat battery. Two gives a higher level of safety IMO.
All the best.

No need to move the washer bottle as
mine has a different location being a PA MY01 model. There was a hole around the radiator support area that allowed me with a long bolt to attach the charcoal canister to that area. So only moved the canister in my model for fitment.

Hi all together.
Thanks for your help so far. Greatly appreciated.
And yes, in my case the charcoal canister has to be relocated to the driver's side as the washer bottle is mounted next to the main battery. I hope that's not a big deal. Mitsubishi
Newcastle would do it but I still consider to do it myself. Will see how far I come.
So heaps of space for an auxiliary battery cradle and an isolator. I might swap the main battery to this place because then I can fit a bigger auxiliary in where the main is currently.
Has anyone the Piranha battery cradle ,made for the Challenger, fitted?
Would be interested how that thing looks like. Or can I also use a different cradle??? That issue is currently my major concern.
Running one big "hybrid" battery only is a tricky thing and I'm not convinced yet. But I will look for more info on that.
Thanks again for your help! Great
forum!

Is a 'safer' method to have a dedicated Cranking battery and also a dedicated Storage battery.
The Cranking battery will be rated as ??? Cold Cranking Amps and the Storage battery should be rated as ??? Amp Hours as CCA don't effectively run a fridge for very long !!
