Has anyone tried a wind generator - with or without solar/tow vehicle for a campertrailer? If so can you let me have set-up and wiring diagram. Looking at a 100+ ah battery in the van as an adjucnt to the 204v and gas.

I am a newbie grey nomadder and want to set up an aged, but refurbished Trailblazer --- beware the Grey Bedouin!

Thanks - IAn

Gday Ian,
I met a bloke a while ago who is the caretaker out at sandy cape near Jurien Bay. It is windy as all get up out there and he had a pretty decent wind generator setup on his van as well as a solar panell. Bear in mind that you normally try and get out of the wind when you camp (I do anyway!). They are also pretty noisy too. Have a look at this site as this fella has a lot of knowledge on wind power.

Wind Generators need at least 20km/hr to generate reasonbale output. If there are any trees around, the wind may be 20 km/hr above the trees but much less below treetop.
