Rabbit Flat Roadhouse now open 7 days per week

Close friends of ours are currently enjoying their first foray into camping and touring the remote regions of the top centre, top end and north western areas of the Countryside.
Today I received an email from them and they are currently in Broome.

One interesting comment I got from them indicates that the Rabbit Flat Roadhouse is now open 7 days a week and a definite “must visit” for a drink.

Well, of course I’m jealous as hell of their enjoyment of touring the countryside without my assistance, but it is plain to see they are doing quite nicely without me. BOO!!!

It may well be their last foray without some company though.
They have only recently bought a 2nd hand 4WD Pajero (late starters they are) and my mate spent countless hours convincing his spouse on the advantages of camping whilst touring.
Well, it would appear she is enjoying it as much as he is (good show) and in future would have no problems in accompanying the two Jackaroo endowed families that normally venture off road, on more excursions into the wide brown yonder.
Oh boy, Oh boy!

One “negative” comment from Himself though. It would appear Herself has now developed a taste for cold beer and his “cost of living” whilst travelling has now doubled.
They have also been really “roughing” it too. Some nights they have had only one bottle of red with dinner.

Ah, it’s good to see they are enjoying their experience.

Bill

Yep, know the feeling !! introduced my wife to a coldie in our early days & she still loves one or two. Mind you, if they tell you in advance & you plan how many you prepare for happy hour, thats OK. But don't you just hate when they tell you " no love, I'll just have a sip of wine tonight" & then when you finish setting up at the end of a days travel she commences to ruin your day by drinking most of your coldies!! Anyway I love my coldies & I love her, so I'll just have to put up with it

So why hook your beer fridge up to zap her when you keep zapping yourself?? Must be a cockroach thing :))

Gidday Sand Man

Rabbit Flats open seven days a week? Don't think that's going too last long, unless things have really changed.

LOL

That change of hours at Rabbit Flat is probably down to Mal Brough's reform campaign in the NT - my info suggest the original restrictive hours there was down to the self-destructive habits of some locals ............ regarding stopping there - I've done that - as a result, next time I'm on the Tanami, I'll have an extra jerry and will be sailing straight past with a finger pointed skyward.

Hi Sandman, we were there a couple of weeks ago and there was no sign that the hours had changed. I loved the place and would like to go back one day.
Cheers
