Hi All,
We've just returned from a great 6 week trip - will post a report inb due course.
Somewhere near Bungabiddy Rockhole on Aug 9th I discovered I had a driving light. No, I hadn't found one - I'd lost one. Photos show I had 2 of them on Aug 8th. The tab welded onto the bullbar had broken.
So, by any chance, did anyone find a big ARB driving light (complete with masking tape holding the plastic cover on) on the Old Gunbarrel east of
Lake Christopher, or the Great Central Rd between the Wannarn turn/off and the Sandy Blight Rd turn/off, or somewhere around Giles or Warrakurna?
Just a shy hope!!!
Thanks,
Graham.

Sorry about the bad news.
No, I havn't found the light :o(
But the same thing has almost happened to me a couple of times.
Once going to
cape york and another time on a rough road in western Qld. saw the top of the light disappear.
I have some top stays now to the bullbar from the lights, and I can see them drop if the light comes undone.
Other thing I have done is put a locking collar under
the nut.
Havn't had any problems since.

Was it on an aluminium bull bar? I haven't found it but a mate had the same thing happen on his ally bar on a Prado.

Hi Ian,
Steel ARB bull bar on my Troopy. Actually, it wasn't the weld that busted - it was the tab itself - about 1/4" steel. The same thing nearly happened last year, but I cought it before disaster. Welded a 10mm (x40mm) tab to the bar, and that's the light I didn't lose this time. I thought the original tab was OK, but obviously not.
We did the Anne Beadell, Connie Sue,
Sydney Yeo, Heather and Old Gunbarrell - the corrugations were unbelievable and there's no doubt that's what caused the problem.
