Hi all,
this is my first posting on the exploroz
forum and it is time to say thank you very much for your useful and worthwhile information here at this board. Thank you also to the exploroz team for your excellent work.
I used this brilliant web-site for our fourth journey in Australia. We
(7adults and 2kids and all active members in a 4x4 club) started in
Adelaide with three hired vehicles. Our first destination were the
Flinders Ranges. Step by step we came to
Innamincka (
Strzelecki Track) and
Birdsville via
Walkers Crossing. Did a side trip to the Big Red, played a bit in sand before we arrived Mt. Isa. Spended relaxing days in
Lawn Hill NP and camped under shady trees on Adels Grove campground. The next part lead us to Kingfisher
Camp,
Burketown,
Normanton,
Karumba,
Cobbold Gorge and Undara Lava Tubes NP. Onwards via
Atherton and
Lakeland to
Split Rock near
Laura and from Battle
Camp to
Cooktown. Spended our last days in several NP between
Cooktown and
Port Douglas. After 5100km more on the clock ended our tour in
Cairns and leave Australia in course to Europe.
Result: Once again a great tour and agreat time in a great country!
Best regards
Helga
PS: Sorry for my bad English languge

Helga,
Glad you enjoyed yourselves over here. Nothing wrong with your English, in fact, you could teach a few others on the
Forum :)))

Well done Helga,
Sounds like you planned your trip
well enough to get the most enjoyment out of your holiday in Oz.
As for the
places you visited on your 4WD trek, you have probably been to more than many "locals" have yet to visit.
Happy to hear you had such a great time in Australia and hope it won't be the last. It is kind of special in our "Great Outdoors" isn't it?

Willie,
explore for yourself Old Germany and you will find out Germany is also a beautiful and exciting country, enjoy it! But be careful the traffic in this small country is more as a little adventure!
When you are back again in Oz, give us an "interview" about your travelling in Germany and maybe in other European counties, pls.
With kind regards
Helga
