Hi guys, I have an MK Nissan Patrol LWB with an auto transmission, and was wondering whether it would be possible to put a 5 speed manual in since they did come out with these. The thing that worries me is whether the transfer case is different between auto and manual for this particular model, and if so what can be done?

Any advise would be much appreciated, Thanks.

Why don't you like the auto shift?

Much better for sand driving and changing over would cost much more than what you may ever save with a perception of a more economical manual shift.

About the only time a manual may be better is when idling down a steep slope where the auto tends to run a bit. Just requires a little riding of the brakes in this case.

Mate for what it is probably going to cost you you could buy a gq manual and you would have a better vehicle

The low range for the transfer case for the auto is lower than the manual about 2.074 as opposed to 2.22 and it is a smaller box than the manual as well
