Some time ago I talked about a proposed cross country trip running parallel to the Tanami Rd. We'll leave the Aboriginal community of
Mulan, skirt around the Western end of
Lake Gregory to
Well 51. From there go to Billiluna where we'll pick up a couple of the locals.
What I need to know is who controls the country West of Ruby Plains Station. If you draw a line from
Well 51 to
Rockhole camp, this is the country we'll attempt to travel through. From there the group will head East to the
Homestead.
Both myself and a
forum member have rung our contacts at both communities on many occasions and for some reason can't get through.
Apart from Billiluna, there doesn't appear to be Native Title on the land mentioned above. After a lot of research I still haven't been able to establish who has ownership of the land.
I have a bit of a stained relationship with the local Shire up there and would prefer not to ring them.
If anyone can provide advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
PS To those who expressed an Interest in the trip I hope to get back to you soon.
Regards
Kim
