Hi folks,

As you may know, we have just rolled out the new places system and have had quite a good response so far.

Currently, we are working on some development ideas and are also trying to ascertain how everyone is going with this new system.

Can you please provide some feed-back, including any ideas that you would like to see in the new system. This would be much appreciated.

Doug,

Can you let me know what was happening - We have tested the image uploaders with hundreds of pics and have received many picture updates from other users. I would like to sort this one out so please email me directly at david@exploroz.com so that I can try to work out what happens, The image uploader is the same one used in My Rig (which you have used before - to load the rig pic), so trying to work out what is different is intresting.

Maybe send me the place you are looking at and the pic you are trying to load so that I can see if it is a place specific issue or something between the server and your PC.

I will do a couple of screen shots and email them, It might be in my setting's but if that was the case then probably wouldn't be able to post photo's period.

Post photos is different than upload. The only uploader you have used in the past would be the My Rig uploader. Or maybe the trader uploader but the forum and gallery are not using the new version as yet.

G'Day Damian. The system looks great, love the idea of being able to see comments/details etc of a place I might be interested in visiting but not real sure about it. Especially if it's not Nat Park as other than the NP websites there isn't always a lot of good info on remote camp sites that people on this forum love to visit.
One suggestion I have is perhaps a date for the photos so that people can see how old the photo is as well as the time of year (ie climate) it was taken

I agree with Coyote. It would be really useful to know whether the photo is current.

Damian,

I have a question for you, who do places get star ratings.?

I noticed places like Yuraygir National Park get five stars, I agree this park is very good but then just below it Kalbarri National Park doesn't rate any stars?

Just wondering....

Hi Blaze,

When a place receives a rating for the first time, say for example, you went into Kalbarri National Park and gave it five stars then that place will then have five stars. If others come along and give it ratings afterwards, then an average is calculated. You can also go into a place and leave a comment along with the rating if you like.

Just scroll down the bottom and you should see the 'What Others Say' rating and comments box.

I hope this helps.
