Any body know how the Leigh Creek Hospital got on with their fund raising? I sent off a donation, but the cheque hasn't cleared in the last couple of months.

Someone with the user name of 'pomgonewalkabout' was solliciting funds/donations. Check the accompanying Link . You could also telephone of fax them on these numbers Phone (08) 86786022 or Fax (08) 86786020 to verify the authenticity of the 'fund-raising' etc.

Hmmmmmm.........................................
So "Pomgonewalkabout" hasn't had a post since that thread soliciting money.
I've heard nothing about the Leigh Creek Hospital being closed as was claimed????
Wonder what happened to all the donations of 4wd gear and money??? The "raffle"???
Why would he only want donations via Money Order??

Phil

I"m not suggesting something is wrong. However, it's a bit unusual the cheque has'nt been processed.

It may have been lost in the post.

I give as much as I can afford to the bush, but have never had a dormant contribution before.

Whilst I don't have many details, I had a colleague (nurse) that recently worked up that way and he was saying that the place is shut and they were consulting / treating out of a clinic nearby. (Can't remember the name of the place).

He did tell me what was wrong with the place, but I can't remember now. But I was certainly shocked to hear that there had been no maintenance / effort to fix whatever the problems were previously.

Reckon the advice from above is good, try ringing the Leigh Creek Hospital number and speak to the Director of Nursing or Executive Officer...

Just thinking... Without going back to the original post by 'pomgonewalkabout", did he not say that it was his partner that was the DON / EO...????

Cheers

Good grief,
I have just received a PM and find that I'm the subject of an ExploreOZ scandal!

Please if there are any doubters, ring the Leigh Creek hospital on 86786022 you can speak to the nurse manager or the admin assisistant they will explain the recent closure. My partner is the Director of nursing she is at a conference at the moment my mobile is 0427 33 56 73

The hospital was closed from June to September 18th the ceiling has been repaired we are back in the hospital having worked from a clinic in Copley as already mentioned in another post in this thread. The staff are fund raising for equipment.

The Lightforce lights that I sold here were purchased by an explore oz member or visitor, he also purchased some fathers day raffle tickets.

The other set of Lightforce lights that I had were used in a Fathers day raffle prize as was a signed Dick Johnson book and a GPS.

As far as I know the only donation from any Forum members or visitors has been from the guy who purchased the lights via the trader advert.

I have received no donations of equipment as promised in my original thread and as far as I and the DON know the hospital has not received any other donations via members of this website.

For anybody with any queries please ring Melissa Bradley at the hospital on Monday morning on 86786022

cheers
