Tjilpi,
Hmmmm I doubt it.
OK, it may seem to have started but will probably dry up in November and December and maybe January as
well before all hell breaks loose in February and you get 2000mm of rain.
Anyway, enjoy the wet. And carry a long winch cable with you if you intend going
places in the wet.
Cheers

I know that from past experience but I thought it would stir up some of those Riverlanders like Des lexic and Blaze.
It is great to hear the thunder and see the lightning and hear the rain on the roof during the wet. I can't wait - as long as it doesn't flood again.

Blaze is home, I saw his car at the local crash repairers yesterday, haven't heard why yet. And Mudguts (Kumanara) what's rain anyway?

Unfortunately we didn't get much. It is really only the build up and I was surprised we got any.
Was in SA recently and went back to the Riverland. It was in a sorry state. You desperately need some rain. The saying goes "The driest State, in the driest Country on the driest continent in the world"
I hope it does rain for you soon.

Hi Tijilpi, thanks for the reply, we are in the southern flinders and rely on the Murray for our
water, not good?

Hi Tjilpi. Where about is "Kumunara" in the NT, can't seem to find it on my PC maps ( Mapsource or Multi Maps) or in my map book. I just like to see where forumites are from.
Cheers Des.

I reside in
Katherine.
"Kumunara" is a western desert language word meaning "name not to be mentioned"
When a person dies they are not allowed to use that name. The time depends on the esteem the person was held in. Years ago a person with the same name on the community I was working on had died.I was then called me Kumunara.
Tjilpi is also a western desert language word meaning öld man"

Tjilpi,
Send it down - might help to save the lake at
Barmera.
Caught up with Boycy last week - down from Maree.
Hope you are
well.

Scoey
I heard a story that Mr Boyce has had one job since he has been at
Marree and ended up hurting his back again. Give him my regards.
I have got a permanent position with the NT Govt. So much for retirement.
Mags is on a bush trip and staying overnight at Kalkarindji. Beautiful country.
Interesting times at the moment with the Federal Intervention teams out and about. I heard that a former defective / persecutor is on one of them. Haven't seen him yet.

Boycey didn't have a job, he'd just been to Mungeranie for lunch and had a flat on the way home, did his back lifting the flat back up onto the door of the troopy. He's heading back to
Marree today after several days OTP down here. We watched
Bathurst on Sunday with him and he's looking forward to entering his new V8 Troopy next year, reckons he'll fix up Ford and Holden. We know it will be too heavy, weighed down by 10 litre casks.

Tjilpi,
Boycy can't be too busy - he is staying on an extra year - would have done the back in lifting a bottle of RED. Haven't heard the one about our det/pros but will follow that one up.
9 months to go until decision time for me - but restructuring of the LSA will mean we take over
Murray Bridge and surrounds and about 60 extra staff so hopefully a job in there for me somewhere to rekindle the fire - if not, many roads out there to travel.
Glad to hear your doing
well - all the best.

Geez Scoey, do you need to be hand fed with information. Even I knew the super slueth was working again up in the north trying to get more money and I've been away for 6 weeks. Unfortunately, back to work for me on Monday.

Yep, we got 7.2mm at home 2 days ago, a few sighs of relief as I had half the roof off the house 2 weeks ago - nothing like putting a bit of pressure on yourself to get a job done!
Most forecasters are predicting an early start, long wet with above average rainfall. My string on the fence is currently dry, hanging limp and casting a shadow. From this, I can tell you its sunny, hasn't rained recently, is not windy, and the security system still works! (its still the best barometer for up here)
Cheers Andrew

Not much different in
Katherine - lots of lightning in the direction of
the Gorge. Checked the Tindal Radar and there is rain falling between
the Gorge and Maranboy.
