All my reading on this topic has led me to believe that they don't fit? I have 3 BFG AT's i want to put on my camper and it has 15x7 rims. So i was surprised to see a member of our club with BFG muddies 32x11.5 on his 15x7 yota rims. Is it a risk to put them on or should i shell out for 3 15x8's?

Hi Brew

Yes 7in isn't an approved rim width on those rims but they would work ok escially on camper.

Depends on your use , I think that size is a bit wide anyway , but if your looking for ground clearance use 33 X 9.5 X 15 AT's , they will improve economy a bit and bag out well in sand, and can be used as spare if pushed.

Hi Robin. I have just replaced my tyres on the GQ after staking one of the BFG's, so the 3 i have to go on the camper are so that i can match camper tyres to the car. I just didn't want to spend the $200 for 3 new rims if i didn't really have to. My 15x7 rims are almost brand new too, so i suppose i could sell them but there really isn't a big demand for 15x7's.

Brew69 , 2 things to think about if you go ahead with the larger tires , 1. being that you could end up with the canvas of your c/t no longer sitting correctly and 2. that your c/t compliance plate can/does state a tire size , if changed without compliance your insurance becomes void ,

Thanks for the comments mate. Yes i did check the compliance plate and there is no mention of rim size or tyre size. And yes i do have enough canvas to reach the ground.

Hi Brew,

Can't help you with the tyre size query, but Mate, what's happened?
You put on weight?
You back to full strength beer?

Good to see the old 69'er back anyway.

Are you, or any of "the mob" intending to visit the 4WD Show this weekend?

Brew,

Do not and I repeat do not waste your money. I have never been to a worse 4wd show than this one. The venue is crap and there are very few companies participating. The ones there have very little range. Far better value for money at other shows. I think this one will now hopefully die.

Mind you if you want a new hillbilly camp oven or accessory that is OK and I picked up a butane stove from somewhere for $14.95 but that is about it.

Watched the extreme boys in action but the first one through dug up the mudpit that badly that no-one else wuld ever get through.

David,

Don't agree with your advice mate.
It depends on what one is looking for.

Last year I went and didn't spend a zak apart from the entrance fee.
I guess I didn't really want for anything.

Now this year, I was in the market for an Oztent, to supplement my camping needs when the Camping Trailer was not practical.

Enquired about an Oztent RV3 which was priced at the RRP of $899. No bargain there.
But included, was a set of deluxe side panels and extra poles for no extra cost as a show special. Normal price for these $259.

So I bought one:-)

Personally, I like the venue. It is big enough to allow expansion for additional Companies that choose to participate. Plenty of free car parking space as well.
I think the venue is actually better than the previous ones at Victoria Park Racecouse which had a poor layout and Ellis Park which was restricted in size, very dusty in the dry and muddy in the wet..

Yes, there was a couple of noticeable absentees this year.
Sunshade Products and Roof Rack World were two vendors I was hoping to see there, but alas it was not to be.

I still think as a predominately 4WD focused show, it still offers the best collection of vendors.

One other very noticeable absence too.
No sign of the HUMMER anywhere. Does it really exist?
Very poor marketing strategy from General Motors in not including it under the Holden umbrella.

Just be aware that the same rules apply with insurance as it does with a vehicle.
