Had a great day yesterday with a drive on the Abercrombie Trek. Was going to stop at the Licking Holes area for lunch- but noted it was full of vehicles, so stopped just on the side of the track a couple of ks further on.
Got out the lace tablecloth & salads. About 10 minutes later all the vehicles that were at Licking Holes drove past, and EVERYONE of then slowed to crawling pace so not to throw dust.
I think it may have been the Landcruiser Club??
If so- thanks for your consideration.

Signman - I bet they couldn't believe their eyes to see a lace tablecloth in the bush and slowed down to get a better look!

Damn Signman you ruined a good story!! I had a mental picture of this "lace" tablecloth out in the bush. :-)

Now all I see is a poor old piece of poly tarp.

I use a couple of old beach towels which are so full of holes they could be taken for lace.

The mother in law uses lace. But she doesn't get out in the bush much.

I've been lucky. In 35 years I've rarely found a rude or inconsiderate mob.

G'day Signman,
Yes it was the TLCC, and it was no problem slowing down, whats that saying, do unto others.... It's a pity about the dust, and lucky you were on the up-wind side of us.
We camped overnight at Silent Creek, so the days drive out was extremely leisurely. The track resurfacing certainly made for an easy and comfortable drive, one of the best grading jobs I have ever seen.
Cheers,
Damian. (trip leader on the day)

Thanks Damian
I may have to join The Club??
Yes, it is a good trip around there. We followed the "Treks around Sydney" book.
Cheers

If you go camping with us, you also get a candelabra.

Mind you, the "wax sculptures" created by the wind can be interesting:-)
