In short, no, most of the old road is replaced by the F3,however,
you can still travel from Hornsby to Brooklyn to the old bridge over the Hawksbury but there is a bloody great hole in the road where the family died on the old road,so closed at Sormesby. Use the MT White entrance on to the F3 and exit at the Gosford exit. The road down to Gosford is the old road through to Wyong, but dont quite know after that. From the end of the F3 north it is still the old Pacific Hwy all the way. There is a new section north of Ballina to the border but assume the old road is still there.
Many years ago remember the road from the border to Brisbane and Lennons Broadbeach Hotel and lots of sandhills. All gone now.

Muddyboy, things haven't changed that much time wise!

North ryde to port in 6hrs could be the case these days!!

One little prang and it all goes pear shaped, SOOOO much traffic! , Mate you can go from parramatta to gosford on the old pacific hwy, there is a hiccup at somesby but the detour takes you around to wisemans ferry rd then down kariong hill to gosford

Then out to Ourimbah all the old road!, then thru palmdale to Wyong up to doyalson then up to Belmont, Charlestown Newcastle, Hexham, Yep its the same all the way up the coast, look on the map for all the towns go thru them and you will still cover a lot of the old hwy

Have Fun

Cheers Axle

I wasn't aware that there was a NEW road. Once you're north of Newcastle it's still the same old goat track. Been upgraded to 4 lanes in a few places but that's about it.
There is a new section from Tweed Heads to Byron Bay but you can still go the old route through Murwullimbah.

Still rated as Australia's deadliest road.......
